Hello! My name is Blair Miller and I am a sophomore Music Business major at Belmont University.Since I was ten years old, I have dreamed about becoming an Entertainment Lawyer and writing contracts. Now that I have had hands on Music Industry experience, I also aspire to be an Artist Publicist. I have added a minor in Public Relations and plan to go to Law School after I graduate from Belmont University. I want to work with artists and around live music, so I am also interested in booking, publishing, promotions, artist management, and live entertainment.

My involvement in Service Corps is the biggest step I have taken to achieve my goals. Through Service Corps, I have been fortunate to work the ACM Honors Award Show, Tin Pan South, Country Radio Seminar, SESAC Awards, and multiple other industry events. My hands-on experiences have shown me different jobs, aspects, and personalities in the industry. My interest in Artist Publicity stemmed from my experience working the red carpet at ACM Honors through Service Corps. Joining Bear House Writer Management (BHWM) is another step I have taken to achieve my goals. Through being a songwriter manager in BHWM, I have booked shows, hosted writers rounds, created social media campaigns, and pitched songs to music publishers. I was also appointed Director of Marketing and Events for BHWM. Working on the Boulevard Team has also taught me skills that will enable me to achieve my goals. On the Boulevard Team, I am able to help plan and implement social media and digital marketing initiatives for Belmont University. In addition to the Boulevard Team, my position as Vice President of Belmont’s 629 Dance Team has led me towards achieving my goals. As the Vice President, I organize all of the team’s Public Relations campaigns, plan and host shows, and assist the president. My semester internship at Ocean Way Studios has also shown me my passion for the music industry and social media marketing. At Ocean Way, I used social media to market the recording services and achievements of Ocean Way Nashville to the broader music industry. The last organization I am involved with is the Belmont Showcase Series. I have worked on the video team and as an artist wrangler. Besides Belmont clubs, I am also working on creating my own company entitled Empire Public Relations and I am the artist manager for Deni, a singer/songwriter.

My time at Belmont has impacted my personal and professional journey by exposing me to first-hand industry experience. My teachers have inspired and motivated me to work hard and never give up. I have learned to always try to achieve my dreams, even if at first I feel they are unattainable. Through the classes I have taken, I have become even more creative, even more outgoing, and even more determined. Belmont has taught me the importance of volunteering in the music industry while in school. Through working events like the Ed Sheeran concert at the Bridgestone Arena and the Grammy Block Party, I have become even more passionate about my goals and aspirations.
